Job summary

Remitly, Inc. is seeking a Senior People Compliance Manager to lead global compliance with a focus on labor laws, policy governance, and risk management. You will partner with Legal and People teams to implement controls, drive audits, and ensure regulatory readiness across geographies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in HR compliance, labor/employment law compliance, or a closely related regulatory program role.
• Deep working knowledge of labor/employment law and regulatory obligations across US; global jurisdictions preferred.
• Experience managing project plans across multiple obligations while sustaining audit readiness.
• Drafting and maintaining employee policies for multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience operating compliance controls inside an HRIS.
• Experience managing internal audit compliance.
• Experience with background check programs and contingent workforce classification.
• Track record building multi-state US and global HR compliance programs.
• Excellent judgment and ability to explain regulations clearly.
• Hands-on AI/automation experience for compliance/HR ops.
• Certification such as CCEP/SHRM-SCP/SPHR is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise the business on People compliance risk.
• Serve as SME to People, Legal, and leaders on compliance areas (labor laws, pay transparency, worker classification, etc.).
• Monitor evolving labor/employment law across Remitly's international footprint.
• Act as liaison with Employment Legal on risk assessment and mitigation.
• Own the global People policy library and govern employee documents.
• Own compliance across the employee lifecycle from hiring to offboarding, incl. background checks.
• Partner with global entities on process documentation and escalation.
• Stay ahead of regulatory change and enter new markets with compliant roadmaps.
• Build governance: roadmaps, audit calendars, escalation pathways, reporting.
• Prepare compliance metrics and dashboards for leadership and committees.
• Own mandatory trainings across jurisdictions and payroll reporting.
• Apply AI/automation to streamline tracking, document review, and audit evidence.
