Job summary

FreshBooks is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage biweekly and monthly payroll for Canada, the US, the Netherlands, and Germany, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You will handle reconciliations, year-end procedures, and inquiries with a focus on data integrity.

You will also support audits, stay current with payroll law changes, and drive improvements through automation while maintaining strict confidentiality for all employees and managers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of payroll experience for Canada and US, with exposure to international payroll.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly and monthly payroll for Canada, US, Netherlands, and Germany.
• Ensure changes comply with policies; maintain accurate pay and personnel records.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and suggest corrections as needed.
• Prepare ROEs and other payroll records timely.
• Perform year-end procedures including T4s and W-2s reconciliations.
• Respond to CRA and other tax agencies; coordinate with internal teams.
• Assist external audits and maintain internal controls and documentation.
• Stay updated on payroll and tax laws; support AI-driven process improvements.
• Maintain high level of confidential service to associates and managers.
• Rippling Payroll experience would be desirable.
