Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Payroll Manager for a mission-driven, multi-entity organization in the Saint Louis, MO area. You will lead complex domestic and international payroll operations, oversee taxes, filings, reconciliations, and year-end reporting, and supervise payroll staff with a customer-service mindset.

The role requires a six+ year background in accounting/payroll, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of payroll tax laws. CPP is preferred; international payroll experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Six or more years of accounting or payroll experience, including at least three years with an automated payroll system.
• Payroll leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and reporting requirements.
• CPP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead accurate and timely payroll processing for domestic and international employees.
• Manage payroll accounting, general ledger interfaces, accruals, audits, and internal controls.
• Supervise, train, and develop payroll staff.
• Administer payroll systems and manage third-party vendors.
• Partner with Finance, HR, A/P, and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll issues.
• Support specialized compensation, including clergy and international employee arrangements.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen compliance, efficiency, and service quality.
