Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Payroll Manager for a mission-driven, multi-entity organization in the Saint Louis, MO area. You will lead complex domestic and international payroll operations, oversee taxes, filings, reconciliations, and year-end reporting, and supervise payroll staff with a customer-service mindset.

The role requires a six+ year background in accounting/payroll, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of payroll tax laws. CPP is preferred; international payroll experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Six or more years of accounting or payroll experience, including at least three years with an automated payroll system.
• Payroll leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and reporting requirements.
• CPP certification preferred.

• Manage payroll accounting, general ledger interfaces, accruals, audits, and internal controls.
• Supervise, train, and develop payroll staff.

Kforce's client, a mission-driven, multi-entity organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead complex domestic and international payroll operations. You will oversee federal, state, and local payroll taxes, filings, reconciliations, and year-end reporting. The ideal candidate combines strong technical payroll expertise with a customer service-oriented leadership style. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead accurate and timely payroll processing for domestic and international employees
• Manage payroll accounting, general ledger interfaces, accruals, audits, and internal controls
• Supervise, train, and develop payroll staff
• Administer payroll systems and manage third-party vendors
• Partner with Finance, Human Resources, Accounts Payable, and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll issues
• Support specialized compensation, including clergy and international employee arrangements
• Identify opportunities to strengthen compliance, efficiency, and service quality

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Six or more years of accounting or payroll experience, including at least three years using an automated payroll system
• Payroll leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and reporting requirements
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• CPP certification preferred
• International payroll, and other payroll programs is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
