Job summary

Worldwide Clinical Trials is seeking a Payroll Accountant for a remote role open to candidates based in Serbia. The position supports payroll accounting across multiple global payrolls, coordinating with the Senior Manager, Global Payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate month-end close, reconciliations, and audit readiness.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in finance, strong Excel skills, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance department
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
• Experience with payroll accounting transactions and liability accounts
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong communication and confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record payroll-related general ledger journal entries
• Manage complex payroll journals, bank transactions, accruals and amortisation
• Reconcile payroll liability accounts with proper support
• Investigate and resolve accounting errors and discrepancies
• Explain month-end payroll movements for financial reporting
• Support audits and fiscal reporting with accurate documentation
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing and process improvements
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll accounting controls and reporting
