Job summary

Expeditors International is seeking a Senior Transportation Finance & Claims Analyst (Customer Onsite) to lead payment analysis, invoice exception resolution, and end-to-end freight claims for global networks. The role focuses on maintaining accurate payables, driving continuous improvement, and delivering executive-level insights.

The ideal candidate has 7–9+ years in freight audit/payments, strong SQL skills, and demonstrated supervision of high-throughput teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or quantitative field.
• 7–9+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in freight audit and payment (FAP), transportation accounting, or logistics billing operations.
• Minimum 3+ years of direct supervisory or team management experience overseeing high-throughput financial operations teams or TVC/BPO vendor pods.
• Background managing multi-million dollar freight spend portfolios and driving high-volume transaction exceptions at global scale.
• Advanced SQL capabilities to query multi-million row datasets and transform data into executive visuals; proficient in Google Sheets (XLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to present metrics to executive leadership; lead dispute sessions with carrier AR leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead payment analysis and weekly reconciliations to reduce aged balances.
• Resolve invoice exceptions within SLAs and drive improvements for portfolios.
• Coordinate end-to-end freight claims, carrier billing disputes, and chargeback settlements.
• Validate weekly global spend files across AMER, EMEA, APAC; ensure timely uploads.
• Support monthly financial close schedules and strict cutoffs.
• Produce executive-ready insights and analytics for reviews and QBRs.
• Drive quarterly carrier improvement projects and root-cause analyses.
• Lead carrier AR reconciliation calls and expedite settlements.
