Job summary

Builders Insurance Group seeks a seasoned General Liability Claims Specialist to thoroughly investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex general liability and construction defect claims while delivering exceptional customer service across multiple jurisdictions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 10+ years of claims experience including construction defect, CPCU/SCLA designation, and active licensure, with strong negotiation, analysis and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in insurance field or related
• 10+ years in processing auto/general liability claims with 5+ years in construction defect claims
• SCLA or CPCU designation; Georgia Adjuster License and other state licenses as applicable
• Knowledge of construction defect and auto liability laws and regulations
• Strong analysis, time management, prioritization, negotiation and project management skills
• Self-motivated, autonomous with clear communication to leadership
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities; maintain confidentiality
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and claims software applications

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of property and casualty claims incl. general liability and construction defect across jurisdictions
• Conduct thorough investigations and coverage analyses; draft clear coverage determinations for stakeholders
• Oversee all claims process aspects; ensure timely investigations and reserves
• Negotiate claims to fair/resolution; monitor life of claim
• Identify risk transfer opportunities and enforce additional insured provisions
• Maintain detailed, organized claim files; ensure transparency and compliance
• Manage litigation toward cost-effective resolution; prepare high-quality reporting
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Auditing, Compliance and external stakeholders
• Meet quality benchmarks and service expectations; participate in hearings as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
