Job summary

CMS Energy in Michigan is seeking a Senior GIS Technician to maintain electric and gas geospatial data in ArcGIS and CAD. You will use SAP, ArcGIS, SIMS, outage management, MS Office, and Power BI to support critical operations.

You will QA/QC data, interpret construction designs, and collaborate with internal customers to ensure asset information quality while advancing geospatial data practices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in GIS or technical field with ArcGIS experience in utilities.
• Alternate: high school diploma with 6+ years ArcGIS utilities experience.
• Experience with GIS tools and data QA/QC in utility environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex data maintenance and GIS analytics, including ad-hoc reporting.
• Update work instructions and procedures to fit new standards.
• Assist with storm/restoration activities in office and field settings.
• Review work orders for data quality and coordinate with internal customers.
• Discuss data requests with stakeholders and schedule workloads with departments.
• Develop geospatial data practices and adapt to changing requirements.
