Job summary

Great Lakes Energy is seeking a detail-oriented GIS Mapping Technician to maintain and improve GIS data for electric and fiber operations. You will manage mapping data, process as-built information, and support GIS users across the organization in Boyne City.

You will interpret construction documents, update GIS and CIS records, and collaborate with engineering and field personnel to ensure accuracy and data quality. Strong problem-solving and a passion for continuous improvement are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field with 1+ year of experience preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Review and process construction and as-built information into GIS.
• Update GIS and CIS records and ensure data accuracy.
• Support GIS users across the organization and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform quality control reviews and data validation.
• Develop GIS datasets and coordinate database updates.
• Research new GIS technologies and best practices.
