Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical investigations and analyses for major infrastructure projects in the United States. You will coordinate with designers, guide technical teams, and support business development with clients.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, have 10 years of geotechnical experience, and are proficient in GeoStudio, Bentley software, and numerical modeling. This on-site role supports HDR’s water and civil works initiatives nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 10 years of geotechnical experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board for the position location.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, GIS, and CADD.
• Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope stability, settlement, seepage, and deep foundation analysis.
• Experience with Bentley suite (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog).
• Knowledge of advanced numerical modeling techniques (Finite Difference/Finite Element/Discrete Element) and software (Bentley, PLAXIS, Itasca FLAC).
• Commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare geotechnical investigations or design activities with significant impact on major programs.
• Participate in marketing efforts for internal and external clients.
• Organize, conduct, and coordinate geotechnical investigations for transportation and other projects.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and prepare reports; coordinate with designers on recommendations.
• Function as Technical Specialist or Project Manager on large projects when needed.
• Supervise professionals, technicians and design teams as required.
• Perform other duties as needed.
