Job summary

HDR, Inc. invites an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical investigations and design activities for major programs in the United States.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and contribute to marketing efforts while advancing infrastructure projects that protect public health and safety. The role emphasizes technical leadership, complex analyses, and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for the role.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, GIS, and CADD is expected.
• Familiarity with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope stability, settlement, seepage, and deep foundation response software.
• Experience with Bentley data management tools (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog).
• Knowledge of advanced numerical modeling methods (Finite Difference/Finite Element/Discrete Element).
• Active participation in an employee-owned culture is essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare geotechnical investigations or design activities with significant program impact.
• Participate in marketing efforts for internal and external clients.
• Organize, conduct, and coordinate geotechnical investigations for transportation and other projects.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and prepare reports; coordinate with designers on recommendations.
• Serve as Technical Specialist or Project Manager on large projects when needed; PM is not the sole focus.
• Supervise professionals, technicians, and design teams as required.
• Perform other duties as needed.
