Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in the United States with extensive geotechnical experience to lead investigations, analyses, and reporting for major transportation and infrastructure projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration with design teams, client engagement, and technical leadership. The successful candidate will bring a PE license and at least 10 years of relevant experience, along with proficiency in GIS, CADD, and geotechnical software suites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10 years of experience required.
• Requires PE license recognized by the local licensing board.
• Experience with GIS, CADD and MS Office applications.
• Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope stability, settlement, seepage, and deep foundation response software.
• Experience with Bentley suite (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog).
• Knowledge of advanced numerical modeling techniques (Finite Difference/Finite Element/Discrete Element) and commercial software (Bentley, PLAXIS, Itasca FLAC).
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct geotechnical investigations and design activities with major program impact.
• Participate in marketing efforts for internal and external clients.
• Organize and coordinate geotechnical investigations for transportation and other projects.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and prepare reports; coordinate with designers on recommendations.
• Serve as Technical Specialist or Project Manager on large projects as needed.
• Supervise professionals, technicians and design teams as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
