Job description

New Jersey based engineering firm is proactively seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer.

Responsibilities of the Senior Geotechnical Engineer:

1. Plan and prepare geotechnical investigations or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs.
2. Participate in marketing efforts for both internal and external clients.
3. Organize, conduct, and coordinate or manage geotechnical investigations for transportation and other projects.
4. Perform geotechnical technical analyses, prepare geotechnical reports, and coordinate with designers to implement recommendations.
5. Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on large projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position.
6. Supervise professionals, technicians, and design teams as needed.
7. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications of the Senior Geotechnical Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, GIS, and CADD as appropriate.
• Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft software for slope stability, settlement, seepage, and deep foundations.
• Experience with Bentley suite of geotechnical data management and visualization software.
• Knowledge of advanced numerical modeling techniques such as Finite Difference, Finite Element, Discrete Element, and commercial software for these methods.
