Terracon has a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Alternate Delivery organization. This group works on larger transportation projects across the US, and the position can be filled anywhere within the country.

Role Overview: You will provide engineering and consulting services for transportation projects, including field investigations, analysis, design, inspection, and report writing. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, ensuring compliance, preparing proposals, tracking project progress, and resolving design and construction issues. You should be able to communicate complex engineering concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Project management or technical leadership experience is preferred, with the ability to oversee all aspects of geotechnical projects.

Examples of Work:

• Development of site characterization reports detailing geotechnical conditions and project risks.
• Providing geotechnical design recommendations for earthwork, considering project specifics.
• Design recommendations for bridge and wall foundations, including shallow and deep foundations.

Required analyses include:

• External stability (bearing resistance, sliding, overturning)
• Settlement analyses
• Rotational stability
• Identification of geotechnical risks affecting design or construction

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead safety initiatives and ensure team compliance with safety standards.
• Promote quality control and best practices on projects.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work, including complex features.
• Provide technical direction for complex projects.
• Manage project teams from conceptual design through completion.
• Monitor activities, allocate resources, and ensure targets are met.
• Review complex investigations and supervise report analysis and recommendations.
• Coordinate financial aspects with project accounting.
• Lead technical training and stay updated on technological advancements.
• Mentor and coach team members.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred)
• 8-11 years of experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with DOT transportation projects
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record

This is a "Remote Only" position, where employees work from home or other locations without a designated office workspace.

The salary range is $101,200-$156,900, adjustable based on location, qualifications, and experience.
