Job summary

Schnabel’s Seattle office seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead and mentor a team on geotechnical and interdisciplinary projects. You will manage scope, budgets, and client expectations while contributing to a strong office culture and project delivery excellence.

Qualifications include ABET-accredited degree and 15+ years of geotechnical experience, with expertise in bridges, deep foundations, and seismic analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical and/or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years of relevant professional experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Must be able to lead, supervise, and mentor junior engineers, technicians, and geologists.
• Extensive geotechnical background including bridges, deep foundations, liquefaction analysis, and slope stability.

Responsibilities

• Manage, execute, and provide technical support on challenging geotechnical projects.
• Develop geotechnical scope of services and fee estimates for projects.
• Plan and oversee geotechnical field investigations and data review.
• Perform analyses in soil/rock mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, present findings to clients, and manage budgets.
