Job summary

Schnabel Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex projects and mentor junior staff.

Qualified candidates will apply geotechnical expertise to transportation, vertical construction, water/wastewater, and energy projects while supporting growth of the Richmond office. You will develop scope of services, oversee investigations, analyze lab tests, prepare reports, and coordinate with clients.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• 10+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience with complex infrastructure.
• Demonstrated expertise in advanced geotechnical analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-person team.

Responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical scope of services and fee estimates.
• Lead planning, execution, and oversight of geotechnical investigations.
• Review and interpret geotechnical laboratory tests.
• Perform analyses and calculations for geotechnical projects.
• Develop recommendations and write geotechnical reports.
• Provide on-site support and coordination of geotechnical aspects of construction.
