Schnabel Engineering’s Rockville, MD office seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead a growing geotechnical practice. You will guide a multidisciplinary team on complex infrastructure projects, directing investigations and ensuring technical excellence from concept through construction.

The role emphasizes leadership, business development, and strategic client engagement while advancing industry leadership and internal mentoring. A PE license and strong geotechnical expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Sufficient leadership experience on complex infrastructure projects.
• Advance degrees preferred in geotechnical engineering.
• Professional licensure as PE is required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for geotechnical teams.
• Lead planning, execution, and oversight of advanced geotechnical investigations.
• Mentor and develop future technical leaders within the team.
• Drive business development, client relationships, and major proposals.
• Advise clients at executive levels to ensure project success from concept to construction.
• Contribute to firm leadership and industry thought leadership initiatives.
• Strengthen Schnabel’s market position through technical excellence and client service.
