Job summary

Schnabel Seattle office is seeking a Senior Dam Engineer with geotechnical expertise to support our growing dam engineering practice. You will lead complex projects, oversee design, analysis, and field work, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold a PE, ABET-accredited civil degree, 10+ years of dam-related experience, and are willing to travel. The role offers competitive compensation and a supportive, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
10+ years of civil/dam engineering experience with emphasis on dam design or safety.
Licensed PE and ability to reciprocity.
Knowledge of state/federal dam safety design methodologies and regulations.
Experience with common CAE analysis and modeling tools.
Experience reviewing construction drawings and specs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering oversight and management of dam engineering projects (inspection, evaluation, design, construction).
Develop engineering proposals and qualification statements.
Prepare and review design calculations, reports, drawings, and specs.
Manage client relationships and project budgets.
