Schnabel Engineering seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support Richmond, VA projects and growth. You will lead complex investigations, develop scopes and fees, and mentor junior staff.

Candidates should have 10+ years in geotechnical engineering, ABET-accredited civil degree, and strong leadership, communication, and project-management skills. This role offers ownership opportunities and collaboration across Schnabel offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.
• Project management experience.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical scope of services and fee estimates.
• Lead planning, execution, and technical oversight of advanced geotechnical investigations.
• Assign, review and interpret geotechnical laboratory tests.
• Perform/review geotechnical engineering analyses and calculations.
• Develop geotechnical engineering recommendations and write reports.
• Provide engineering support on geotechnical aspects of construction.
• Manage project budgets, invoicing and backlog reporting.
• Collaborate across Schnabel offices and with clients; participate in business development.
