Job summary

CDM Smith in Florida is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex infrastructure designs, including excavation, dewatering, deep foundations, and geo‑environmental work. You will mentor junior engineers and help advance technical best practices across the firm, with openness to candidates in Florida within commuting distance to local CDM Smith offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 10 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Create excavation, dewatering, shallow/deep foundations, dams/reservoirs/levees, geo-environmental projects.
• Develop engineering designs of basic to high complexity.
• Review designs for compliance with regulations and sign off on completed designs.
• Ensure firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Perform site reviews and studies to align with location specifications.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical papers and proposals.
