Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to tackle complex infrastructure projects including dams, reservoirs, levees, and deep foundations. You will guide designs from investigation through final delivery, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and cross‑disciplinary teams.

Based in Kansas City, Chicago or Dallas, this role requires PE licensure, about 7 years of experience, and travel up to 10% to support varied projects across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineer (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create designs for excavation, dewatering, foundations, dams, reservoirs and geo-environmental projects.
• Review designs for regulatory compliance and sign off on final designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical publications.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects.
