Job description

Join to apply for the Senior Geotechnical Engineer role at HDR.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Plan and prepare geotechnical investigations or design activities impacting major company programs.
2. Participate in marketing efforts for internal and external clients.
3. Organize, conduct, and manage geotechnical investigations for water resources and other projects.
4. Perform geotechnical analyses, prepare reports, and coordinate with designers to implement recommendations.
5. Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects, with project management not being the sole focus.
6. Supervise a small team of professionals and technicians as needed.
7. Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering.
• PE license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, GeoStudios, LPILE, SHAFT, or similar software.
• Evidence of project engineering and management experience.
• Deep understanding of advanced soil mechanics, embankment design, and familiarity with USACE and DWR guidelines.
• Active participation in an employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
