Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Engineer in the geotechnical group to lead a variety of environmental, geotechnical, and civil projects.

The role requires hands-on project engineering, technical leadership, and effective communication with clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, 5–12 years in geotechnical engineering or materials testing with supervisory experience, and a PE license or reciprocity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field and PE license in SC or reciprocity.
• 5–12 years of geotechnical engineering or materials testing experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design, geosynthetics, and construction requirements.
• Ability to perform analyses, calculations, and design for site development, foundation design, walls, earthwork and pavements; produce reports and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, designers, and field staff.
• Delegate tasks and oversee project team to ensure accuracy and schedule adherence.
• Foster a collaborative team environment and support professional growth and knowledge sharing.
• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection; assign soils lab testing.
• Serve as primary client contact, maintain relationships, communicate updates and findings clearly.
• Ensure quality control through reviews of designs, calculations, and drawings; participate in audits.
