Job summary

Townsend Energy in Danvers, MA is seeking an experienced Generator Service Technician to install, service, and repair residential standby generators.

You will mentor entry-level technicians, complete inspections per manufacturer specs, and document findings for customers and management. The role includes a Monday–Friday schedule, take-home vehicle, gas card, uniforms, and training opportunities to grow with the company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with generator installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
• Proven ability to mentor, coach, and train less-experienced technicians
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds and performing demanding fieldwork as needed
• Generac Certification preferred, but not mandatory
• Strong mechanical skills with a willingness to learn and expand technical knowledge
• Additional experience with HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, propane, or oil is highly valued
• Valid driver's license with a clean or satisfactory driving history

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled service, preventative maintenance, and new installations of residential standby generators
• Coaching and developing entry-level technicians through hands-on training and guidance
• Complete inspections according to manufacturer recommendations
• Change oil, filters, spark plugs, batteries, and other maintenance-related components
• Document maintenance findings accurately
• Identify potential concerns and communicate recommendations to customers and management
