Job summary

Integrated Power Services is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician to service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.

You will travel locally, perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and start-ups, and communicate clearly with customers while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a technical school with generators, diesel, power gen, or related subsystems is preferred.
• Some experience in generator repair or maintenance is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mechanical aptitude can substitute for formal generator training.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
• Must have at least 3 years of driving with a valid, unrestricted license.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to work after hours and travel in a service vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field.
• Assist residential, commercial, and industrial clients to keep power on.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Complete documentation and customer communications clearly.
• Travel locally in company service vehicle; maintain vehicle inventory and perform safety maintenance.
