Job summary

Ketchikan Public Utilities seeks a Senior Manager to oversee the electric generation system, maintenance programs, and fleet operations. The role directs hydroelectric and diesel power generation, dispatch, and safety programs to ensure reliable power for the City of Ketchikan and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staff supervision, and coordinating contracts and projects with City departments and external partners.

Qualifications

• Education: bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Five or more years of electrical engineering experience in an electric utility with hydro and diesel power systems.
• Two or more years of supervisory/management responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversees diesel and hydroelectric generation and dispatch operations.
• Manages an Electric Division staff of ~22 with hiring, training, and performance reviews.
• Develops and monitors budgets for generation and maintenance.
• Coordinates projects, contracts, and safety programs.
• Represents the Electric Division on boards and interfaces with external agencies.
