Job summary

Sitka (CBS) — Electric is seeking an Operator to manage hydroelectric and diesel generation, transmission, substations, and distribution within Sitka and remote locations. You will monitor loads, optimize water and fuel use, and coordinate with the dispatcher to maintain safe, cost-effective power supply.

Responsibilities include operating SCADA, issuing switching instructions, performing maintenance, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with SCADA systems is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams is essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, operates, and dispatches electric generation, transmission, substation, and distribution systems to ensure reliable power delivery.
• Maintains SCADA supervision and responds to alarms to keep system balanced and within safety limits.
• Dispatches switching procedures to ensure safe, coordinated operation of the electrical system.
• Performs routine maintenance and housekeeping in assigned areas.
• Gathers data and prepares reports and logs from SCADA and related systems.
• Responds to emergencies by implementing procedures and coordinating restoration efforts.
