Job summary

Chugach Electric Association is seeking a Manager who will oversee generation fuel resources, including natural gas supply, transportation and storage, ensuring safe, reliable and cost-efficient power delivery to members.

The role includes reconciling fuel and economy power transactions, developing cost models, forecasting, and managing commercial agreements, while leading a team and coordinating with dispatchers, pipelines, and storage operators in Alaska.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in natural gas and electric/gas utility operations with supervision.
• Experience in a utility or union environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fuel requirements for generation facilities with dispatchers, suppliers, pipelines, and storage operators.
• Manage programs and reporting for renewable energy resources (hydro, wind).
• Oversee fuel nomination, scheduling, and balance across pipelines and storage.
• Handle terms of commercial agreements for natural gas supply, transport, and storage.
• Develop cost models, fuel forecasting, and annual budgets.
• Reconcile gas, fuel resources and economy power transactions, including Power Pool.
• Monitor real-time SCADA data and weather/operations affecting demand; submit intraday changes.
• Prepare capital and operating budgets for division and contracts.
• Lead staffing, training, and performance reviews; support emergency response and storm restoration.
