Job summary

The North Slope Borough seeks a senior leader to direct the Light & Power System's operations and maintenance. You will oversee a diverse team, develop and implement programs, and ensure the utility runs as an enterprise fund across multiple villages.

You will also manage the training program for ~45 staff, coordinate with the Utilities Division Manager, and lead regulatory reporting and budgeting efforts. Alaska experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration OR high school/GED with five years related Arctic experience.
• Five years experience with Federal, State and Borough laws and power utilities.
• Five years experience with power grid projects and systems.
• Five years supervisory experience in electric power industry.
• Able to obtain Alaska driver's license per criteria in probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Power Systems operations and maintenance of the Utility Division.
• Develop and improve services and programs within the Utility Division.
• Prepare the annual power systems budget and operate as enterprise fund.
• Manage training program for ~45 staff across seven villages.
• Develop area-wide remote metering and preventive maintenance programs.
• Monitor customer service, public relations and public benefit programs.
