Job summary

The City and Borough of Sitka is seeking a TandD Systems Manager to oversee the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the transmission and distribution system, including overhead, underground, and underwater lines. You will supervise multiple units and help ensure a safe, reliable power supply for Sitka residents.

Under the Electric Utility Director, you will lead technical staff, coordinate with other departments, and participate in planning, budgeting, and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with electrical emphasis.
• Seven years of engineering and project management experience in electric power transmission and distribution.
• Equivalent combination of experience, education, and training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, construction, operation, and maintenance of TandD systems.
• Direct supervision of teams: General Foreman, Lineman, Metering, Warehousing.
• Develop safety programs and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Prepare capital improvement plans and budgets for the department.
• Coordinate switching procedures and emergency response to maintain system integrity.
