Job summary

Travelers in the United States seeks an experienced Claims professional to investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate and resolve General Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims. You will provide quality claim handling throughout the life cycle, maintain compliance with standards, and serve as a technical resource to field partners.

This role does not involve managing staff, but requires strong analytical thinking and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Two years bodily injury liability claim handling experience or comparable litigation.
• Strong knowledge of coverage, contract interpretation, and liability analysis.
• Ability to manage complex claims independently.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly handles assigned severe claims.
• Provides quality customer service and ensures file quality and timely coverage analysis.
• Consults with Manager on use of Claim Coverage Counsel as needed.
• Directly investigate each claim with policyholders, claimants, and witnesses to determine liability and damages.
• Maintains claim files and documents activities per procedures.
• Establishes and maintains indemnity and expense reserves.
• Negotiate disposition of claims with insureds and claimants or legal representatives.
• Tracks and controls legal expenses to assure cost-effective resolution.
