Job summary

Ernst & Young LLP in the United States seeks a General Ledger / Accounts Payable Senior Associate to support day‑to‑day GL, AP and expense processing for government contracting projects. You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations and assist with period‑end closes, audits, and compliance with GAAP, FAR and CAS.

The role requires 4–6 years of related accounting experience, proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and Excel, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• To qualify, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 4–6 years of related accounting experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Deltek Costpoint required; experience with government contracting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger structures and configurations.
• Ensure GAAP/FAR/CAS compliance and EY policies.
• Review journal entries for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules by deadlines.
• Maintain audit‑ready journal entry documentation.
• Perform reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support subperiod-end, month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
• Support accounts payable and expense processing and reviews.
• Collaborate with contracts management, subcontracts, purchasing and compliance teams.
• Develop and maintain reconciliation templates and desktop procedures.
