Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation seeks a senior attorney to provide legal guidance to internal business teams. The role covers contracts for leases, licenses, purchases, real estate, mergers, acquisitions, and related matters, with emphasis on federal procurement and government contracts.

Must be admitted to a U.S. bar, have 7+ years of experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional partners and outside counsel; security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in good standing to a U.S. state bar.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency.
• Proven experience in federal government procurement law, including FAR.
• Experience with the DoD and other government agencies.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance if required; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice, counsel, and service to internal business clients on corporate rights, obligations, and privileges.
• Draft contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, employment, insurance, mergers, and acquisitions.
• Keep current on legislation, statutes, decisions, and ordinances relevant to corporate matters.
• Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits.
• Advise on risk assessment and governance matters; act as an agent in transactions.
• Collaborate with outside counsel to direct activities and safeguard business interests.
