Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) is seeking a Senior Counsel for Government Programs to provide expert legal guidance on USG programs and government contracts. The role emphasizes leadership of junior attorneys and strong collaboration with internal teams on compliance and risk management.

The position requires a Juris Doctor, active US license, and at least 10 years in government contracts law, with the ability to draft complex agreements and manage external counsel.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
• Experience in US government contracts law, preferably in a law firm or government.
• Ability to lead projects and provide direction to teams.

Responsibilities

• Advise on all phases of the government contracting lifecycle (proposal review, negotiation, performance, closeout).
• Interpret and apply FAR, DFARS, and agency regulations for compliance.
• Draft, review, negotiate prime contracts and subcontracts; ensure flow-down of terms.
• Provide training on compliance and risk mitigation to internal teams.
• Develop and implement corporate policies.
• Advise on regulatory, statutory, and legislative affairs affecting programs.
• Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda, and advise on risk mitigation.
• Manage outside counsel to maximize outcomes.
