Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking a Technical Trainer to plan, prepare and deliver training programs for gas operations staff. You will integrate classroom, hands-on and OJT to maximize learning while aligning with safety and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 3+ years in gas industry training, strong communication skills, and proficiency with LMS and related tools; travel up to 20% may be required to support field operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in gas industry or related training within a utility, skilled trades, emergency response, or military environments.
• Experience delivering effective technical training & evaluation programs.
• Knowledge of maintenance and operating procedures in assigned programs.
• Excellent communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of PC applications/skills (PST, LMS, Onboard, WMS, MDTs, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead learning events focusing on gas operation and maintenance, service, M&R, engineering, and other activities.
• Integrate classroom, hands-on, simulation, and on-the-job training to maximize learning.
• Deliver training initiatives providing practical field experience for employee mastery.
• Direct planning, execution, and facilitation of training programs in specified disciplines.
• Promote safety and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; support operator qualifications.
