Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Field Technical Trainer to support modernization of operations and transform training, technology, and processes within an ongoing learning environment. The role focuses on training, mentoring, and developing field employees to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient work performance.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in natural gas industry and background in training within a related utility, skilled trades, emergency response community, or in training military personnel.
• Knowledge of maintenance and operating procedures and processes used in the training process.
• Understanding of State/Federal gas pipeline regulations.
• Excellent communications, presentation, interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of PC applications/skills (PST, LMS, Onboard, WMS, MDTs, etc.)
• Driver license valid and in state at hire.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-the-job coaching events that build student knowledge and skill with focus on natural gas operations.
• Integrate classroom training with hands-on practice and simulations for max learning.
• Train learning initiatives that provide practical in-field experience for employees.
• Support development of employees toward senior roles by monitoring progression in training processes.
• Assist support services to field operations and related teams.
• Coordinate, deliver, and facilitate training programs as needed.
