Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Denver, CO is seeking a Construction Project Manager to support EPC project leaders and oversee day-to-day operations from pre-construction through warranty. The role covers safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, client relations, and field staff across multiple projects.

You will coordinate with engineering and procurement to deliver on schedule and budget, while mentoring staff and adhering to company policies. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering or related field; 7 years of PM experience required.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
  • Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience on construction project sites or program management in aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, etc. preferred.
  • Understanding of GAAP is required.
  • Must meet driving requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities and the execution of single or multiple projects.
  • Develop project plans, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and establishing key objectives.
  • Manage client relationships and interface for proposals and project items.
  • Lead risk reviews and coordinate with Legal department.
  • Negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Implement sections of the Project Execution Plan including safety, QA, procurement, and staffing.
  • Develop staffing plans and coordinate cross-disciplinary activities.
  • Review and approve project reports including budgeting and cash flow.
  • Oversee invoicing and contract administration.
  • Ensure permits, insurance, licenses, and bonding are in place.
  • Mentor interns and junior staff.
