Job summary

Scopely is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Gaming Backend) to join WWE Champions, supporting a remote team in the United States, Canada, or Mexico City on a hybrid basis. You will design, build, and evolve backend systems powering core gameplay and live-service operations at scale.

The role requires 6+ years of backend experience, cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS), and collaboration with Unity/C# teams to deliver integrated features.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience in gaming or large-scale live-service applications.
• Deep backend engineering with server-side languages and frameworks.
• Experience collaborating with game client engineers (Unity/C#) to deliver integrated features.
• Proven track record designing scalable systems and managing live-service operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve backend systems powering core gameplay and live-service operations.
• Drive live-ops excellence through incident management and reliability improvements.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, QA, and Analytics.
• Deliver high-quality server-side features with scalable architecture for live mobile games.
• Mentor teammates and unblock technical challenges in a high-concurrency environment.
• Contribute to hands-on feature development and ensure code quality across client and server codebases.
