Job summary

Scopely is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Scopely Explore, Inc. in San Francisco, CA, to research, design, and develop software for AR technology. You will build reliable, high-throughput, low-latency backend systems that power our developers and games.

You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver modular services, perform load testing, code reviews, unit tests, and ensure uptime for live systems. Remote work within the US is allowed under company policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Three years in job offered as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related occupation.
• Experience with OOP languages, data structures, algorithms, software architecture, databases (SQL/NoSQL), web frameworks, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop computer and network software for AR technology.
• Build high-throughput, low-latency, scalable server and networking systems for Scopely's developers and products.
• Develop modular back-end components and services; perform load testing and trialing for uptime.
• Code reviews, unit tests, and troubleshooting; collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners.
• Mentor junior team members; contribute to long-term technical strategy.
