Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst to lead requirements capture for software development teams in a federal context. This 100% remote position supports the Veterans Affairs department and requires collaboration with business users, IT, and leadership to elaborate and document requirements in ALM tools such as JIRA.

The ideal candidate has deep SAFe experience, strong communication skills, and a track record of delivering well-documented user stories, acceptance

Qualifications

Must possess strong software development and SAFe/Agile experience.
Excellent written and spoken communication for diverse audiences.
Attention to detail, problem-solving, and customer service mindset.
Experience conducting independent research to answer complex questions.
Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
Strong analytical abilities combining data from multiple sources.
Experience in large Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in ALM tools
Manage requirements in an ALM tool
Perform Agile requirement management activities for a product team
Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items
Use ALM tools (JIRA) for requirements, testing, and defects
Coordinate with Systems Engineers on impact to solutions
Lead and mentor junior analysts
Write and deliver project documents to the client
Identify risks and issues impacting progress
Develop and maintain project/backlog schedules
