Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst II to drive requirements for federal software initiatives. The role emphasizes collaboration with business users, IT, and leadership to elaborate and document needs within ALM tools and to guide backlog items through SAFe practices remotely.

The ideal candidate has a strong software development background, SAFe experience, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a strong background in software development and SAFe/Scaled Agile Framework methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication, able to explain technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, customer service mentality, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience conducting independent research to support resolving complex questions.
• Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in an ALM tool.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform Agile requirement management for a product team.
• Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews, facilitate sessions, and model business processes and specifications.
• Gather and document requirements from customers, team, and stakeholders; elaborate user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Use JIRA for requirements management, testing, and defect management to manage epics and stories.
• Collect, track, and monitor system and business requirements; validate integration.
• Conduct backlog refinement and coordinate with Systems Engineers on impact to solutions.
• Manage and coordinate requirements for various projects; write and deliver project documents.
• Identify and manage risks and issues; develop and maintain project/backlog schedules.
• Own change control and develop Change Requests; ensure traceability across requirements and tests.
• Report execution status and metrics across SAFe product development lifecycle.
