Scribd, Inc. is seeking a senior full‑stack developer to help migrate our frontend from a Ruby on Rails monolith to a modular microfrontend architecture using Next.js. You will collaborate with Data/ML, Content Pipeline, Design, and Product to ship features that improve document reading experiences and engagement.

The role emphasizes performance, accessibility, SEO, and building scalable frontend infrastructure, with opportunities to influence the core Scribd product and its 10M+ daily readers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of full-stack development experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
• Experience shipping production systems across the stack; familiarity with Next.js.
• Cloud/SRE basics: monitoring, incident response, service health.
• Collaborative, cross-functional work with Design, Product, AI/ML, and Infra.
• Commitment to code quality, maintainable and well-documented code.

Responsibilities

• Migrate frontend surfaces from a Ruby-on-Rails monolith to a microfrontend.
• Collaborate with Data/ML and Content Pipeline teams to build features.
• Create new GraphQL APIs and services in Node, Python, and Go.
• Contribute to a shared design system and frontend infrastructure improvements.
• Partner with Design and PM to deliver high-quality user-centered features.
