Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a seasoned Full Stack Java Developer for the USPS ARIS program. The role requires strong Java/J2EE, Spring, RESTful API, and cloud experience.

You will build scalable apps, modernize legacy systems, and implement automated testing and CI/CD in a remote, USPS-eligible environment. Applicants should have 7+ years in Java and 3+ years in full stack roles, with AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Playwright, and a background for Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or commensurate experience.
• Minimum of 7 years in Java development and 3 years of full stack experience.
• Expert in Java, J2EE, and Spring Framework.
• Experience with RESTful API development.
• Proficient in AWS (EC2, ECS, SQS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB) and cloud DevOps.
• Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, and Kafka.
• Knowledge of Git version control best practices.
• Experience with Playwright testing and CI/CD with Jenkins.
• Experience with migrations and new technologies for modernization.
• Experience with unit, functional, regression, performance, and E2E tests.
• Experience with Agile development and VersionOne.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java, J2EE, Spring, and Oracle databases.
• Develop and support RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications using Kafka.
• Build, deploy, and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, and containerization.
• Support modernization and migration initiatives, including legacy integration and cloud adoption.
• Implement automated testing strategies (unit to E2E) using Playwright.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and follow DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver quality software.
