Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to support the USPS ARIS program. The role is fully remote within the United States and requires background investigation for Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities include building scalable Java/J2EE applications, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions on AWS with Kubernetes. Strong experience in Playwright testing and Jenkins CI/CD is needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years in Java development and 3 years of full stack experience
• Expert in Java, especially J2EE and Spring Framework
• Experience with Oracle DB query development including Hibernate in Spring Framework
• Expert in RESTful API development
• Expert in AWS (EC2, ECS, SQS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, event streaming) and DevOps in clouds
• Experience with Kubernetes, micro-services, and Kafka
• Version control best practices (Git)
• Experience with Playwright and CI/CD with Jenkins
• Understanding migration of legacy systems
• Experience with unit, functional, regression and performance tests
• Experience with VersionOne and Agile development

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java, J2EE, Spring, and Oracle databases
• Develop and support RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven apps using Kafka
• Build and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services, Kubernetes, and containerized architectures
• Support modernization and migration initiatives including cloud adoption
• Implement automated testing strategies including Playwright
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software
• Perform code reviews and troubleshoot issues while upholding security and performance standards
• Use Git and version control best practices for releases
• Communicate technical solutions and project status to stakeholders
