Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Full Stack Java Developer to support USPS ARIS, requiring a strong background in Java, J2EE, Spring, Oracle, and cloud-native architectures. The role is fully remote in the United States, with a Public Trust clearance requirement and a salary range of USD 115,000 to 154,000 per year.

The ideal candidate will design and implement scalable applications, build APIs and microservices with Kafka, and manage CI/CD pipelines while collaborating in an Agile team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s with 8 years (or commensurate experience).
• Minimum of 7 years in Java development and 3 years of full stack experience.
• Expert in Java, J2EE, and Spring Framework.
• Experience with Oracle DB query development (Hibernate in Spring).
• Expert in RESTful API development.
• Expert in AWS (EC2, ECS, SQS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, event streaming) and DevOps in clouds.
• Experience with Kubernetes, micro-services, Kafka (event-driven).
• Version control with Git.
• Playwright testing and Jenkins CI/CD.
• Agile development experience.
• Clearance: USPS Public Trust; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full‑stack applications using Java, J2EE, Spring, and Oracle databases.
• Develop and support RESTful APIs, microservices, and event‑driven apps using Kafka.
• Build, deploy, and maintain cloud‑native solutions leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, and containerization.
• Support modernization and migration including legacy integration and cloud adoption.
• Implement automated testing strategies including Playwright across unit to performance tests.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and follow DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high‑quality software.
