Job summary

Ad Hoc is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack to design, build, and maintain scalable government-focused applications using Ruby on Rails, React.js, and PostgreSQL. This is a remote role supporting nationwide teams, with a strong emphasis on reliability, security, and auditability in public-sector projects.

You will own features end-to-end, mentor peers, participate in design reviews, and apply AI-assisted coding tools while delivering high-quality code and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, React.js, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing, developing, integrating, and troubleshooting APIs including government system integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable applications for federal/public-sector projects.
• Own features end-to-end from design to deployment and maintenance.
