Job summary

Ad Hoc LLC is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and scale secure government‑ready applications using Ruby on Rails and React.js. You will own features end‑to‑end, collaborate with product managers and government partners, and help shape technical choices across the stack.

The role emphasizes observability, API integrations, and AI-assisted development to boost delivery speed while maintaining quality in a remote, nationwide setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, React.js, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing, developing, integrating, and troubleshooting APIs, including government integrations.
• Experience building and maintaining dashboards, monitors, and alerts with Datadog.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools in professional workflows.
• Ability to work with version control, code reviews, automated testing, and modern methodologies.
• Clear communication and mentoring abilities; federal background expectations may apply.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full‑stack applications using Rails and React.
• Own features end-to-end; ensure quality, reliability, and performance.
• Build and troubleshoot RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and government systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers; contribute to best practices.
• Develop monitoring dashboards and alerts using Datadog to ensure system health.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to enhance productivity while upholding standards.
• Participate in reviews, architecture discussions, and technical interviews.
