Ad Hoc LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack to design, build, and maintain scalable applications supporting critical government digital services. This remote role collaborates with cross-functional teams and partners to deliver high-impact software for veterans and public-sector programs.

You will own features end-to-end from backend in Ruby on Rails to frontend with React, implement robust APIs, observability with Datadog, and leverage AI-assisted coding tools to improve

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/IT or related field with 7+ years of professional software experience.
• Experience in full-stack development with Ruby on Rails, React.js and PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing, developing, integrating, and troubleshooting APIs including government systems.
• Experience with Datadog or comparable observability platforms.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools in professional workflows.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure government digital services.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver tech solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Lead smaller technical initiatives or workstreams when appropriate.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural planning.
• Create and maintain design specs, architecture diagrams, and documentation.
• Develop monitoring dashboards and alerts using Datadog.
• Evaluate approaches and tradeoffs balancing performance and maintainability.
• Employ AI-assisted tools to improve coding efficiency while preserving quality.
