Job summary

Hopper is seeking a senior full stack engineer to anchor HTS, owning the realtime and voice layer end to end. You will work across React/TypeScript front ends, Scala and Python services, and cloud infrastructure on GCP/AWS.

The ideal candidate brings senior ownership of production systems, hands-on realtime experience, and a track record with RESTful APIs and microservices. This role offers a high-impact path in a lean, senior team.

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering with senior ownership of production systems.
Strong frontend with React/TypeScript and backend in Scala or Python.
Experience with cloud infrastructure on GCP or AWS.
Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
Familiarity with AI coding tools and reviewing outputs.
Comfort with SLAs, observability, on-call rotations, and rollback plans.

Responsibilities

Own voice channel end-to-end including telephony integrations (Twilio/Amazon Connect).
Build features across React/TypeScript frontend and Scala/Python backend.
Design for multi-tenant scale with configurable codebase.
Implement safety, compliance, guardrails, and PII redaction points.
Maintain platform health through observability, alerts, and incidents.
Support go-lives with partner telephony configurations.
