Job summary

Hopper is seeking a senior full stack engineer to anchor HTS Assist, owning realtime and voice layers end-to-end across React/TypeScript front ends, Scala and Python services, and cloud infrastructure. You will work on telephony integrations (Twilio, Amazon Connect), streaming speech pipelines, and multi-tenant designs, with a senior team and broad ownership.

The role emphasizes building safe, scalable APIs and workflows, improving observability, and shipping iteratively while mentoring

Qualifications

6+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
Realtime voice applications, WebRTC/SIP, streaming media or low-latency systems.
Frontend in React/TypeScript and backend in Scala or Python with cloud on GCP/AWS.
Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, or event-driven systems.
Familiarity with AI coding tools and code review responsibility.
Operable-systems mindset with SLAs, observability, and on-call planning.

Responsibilities

Own voice channel end-to-end including telephony and CPaaS integrations like Twilio/Amazon Connect.
Build features across stack: React/TypeScript frontend, Scala/Python backend, and GCP infrastructure.
Design for multi-tenant scale with configuration-driven architecture.
Implement safety, compliance, guardrails, and PII redaction points.
Maintain revenue-critical deployments with observability, alerts, and incident response.
Enable forward-deployed platform capabilities for partner telephony go-lives.
Mentor others and lead code/architecture reviews.
